Staffing Updates

June was a time to say goodbye to friends, but September is our time to welcome many new (and returning) staff members to Georges Vanier Elementary. Our new staff bring new energy and new vision and we are happy to have them as part of our school community.  Please see a complete list of our GV staff, assignments and room numbers.

Diwali At GV

We will celebrate Diwali during a school wide assembly on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 1:15 p.m. Students are invited to dress in traditional clothing on this day.

Staff are being treated to an Diwali luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 11:40 a.m.   We greatly appreciate parents generosity and hospitality.

Emergency Preparedness

We prepare for emergencies by practicing fire, earthquake and lockdown drills.  This past week we were very impressed with our students’ ability to exit the building quietly, orderly and calmly during our first Fire Drill of the school year.  Well done, everyone!

Professional Day

Oct. 24th is a Province Wide professional development day for teachers, where they will engage in workshops of their choosing.
