Scholastic Book Fair is Coming to GV!

The Book Fair begins next week and runs from Thursday April 9th to Wednesday April 15th. We are excited to add to our library collection, so if you see any books that might be great for our library please let me know. The fair will be open in the morning for parents and caregivers and their children, throughout the day for students and after school for everyone. I hope to close the fair by 3:15 most days so come early for the best selection. Thank you for the support and see you in the Learning Commons!

Student Placement Requests

If you would like to make a request about your child’s placement for next year, please put this in writing and submit your letter to Mr. Dekerf before the end of April.  Requests may include a description of a preferred learning environment or details about your child.  Parents may not request a particular teacher by name.

Parent requests will be one part of our decision making process as we work collaboratively to create balanced classes.

Speech Festival

All grade 4-7 students are currently learning about the speech writing process.  We look forward to sharing some fine examples of public speaking at our semi finals on April 20th and the GV Speech Festival on Friday, April 24 @ 9:00 a.m.   Our special guest judges will include Ms. McNally, Ms. Sarmento and Ms. Chohan!

Satisfaction Surveys

All grade 4 & 7 students, staff and parents are invited to complete Ministry of Education Satisfaction Surveys.  Student surveys will take place on April 16th in the computer lab.  Parent surveys are open beginning next week.  Please drop by the office to obtain log-in information and anonymous PIN access code.
