Learning Commons News!

In the Learning Commons we shared a great story about the changing seasons called ‘And Then It’s Spring’ by Julie Fogliano. We examined some signs of spring with our cool Zoomy Digital Microscope and took a close look at the dandelions growing in the playground. We examined roots, pollen and petals of a variety of spring plants.

Vanier student, Kye, enjoys a night out at the Canucks.  He may be their lucky charm since he cheered them to a 5-0 victory!  Go Canucks!

Allergies

We would like to ask for your help making our school safe for both students and employees by keeping nuts and fragrances away from the school.  Perfumes and colognes severely affect the breathing of some staff members and students.  We have children in the building with severe, life threatening nut allergies and would ask that you wash your hand if you or your children are in contact with nut products like peanut butter before coming to school.  Also, please keep all foods with nuts at home and away from school property.  We want all of our children and staff to feel safe on the playground, fields and in the building.    -Ms. Porpaczy
