Principal / Vice Principal’s Message

We hope that everyone enjoyed a very happy and safe Halloween on Saturday!  Please remember to monitor your child’s bedtime and candy intake.  We continue to encourage healthy eating and no “junk” foods at school.

Remembrance Day

We will be honouring Remembrance Day at GV with an assembly on Tuesday, Nov. 10th @ 10:25 a.m.  Any students who may be involved in Scouting, Guiding, Cadets, etc. are invited to see Mr. Dekerf this week.  These students can wear their uniforms and take a place of honour within our school event.   As well, parents, grandparents or relatives who served during war times or are current members of the military may also contact the school office and participate in our assembly.

Diwali Luncheon

Our generous parent community will be sharing a Diwali luncheon with staff this Wednesday.  There are also plans to share some special foods with all students in the school.

Lost and Found

This is our final week for L&F.  All items will be donated to a local charity by the end of the week.

BOOKS TAKE YOU PLACES

This week at Georges Vanier we joined schools from across B.C. and Canada to Drop Everything And Read: D.E.A.R.  These photos show the worlds that books can take you. The pictures were snapped in classrooms as students sat down with a good book. I used Superimpose App to change the background.  Attributions below.
