The Poppy Campaign
Every year, the Legion conducts the Poppy Campaign to honour those who serve, and to raise funds in support of Veterans and their families. From the last Friday in October to Remembrance Day, all Canadians can be a part of the campaign. Wear a poppy, attend a ceremony, and show your recognition for those who gave their lives for our freedom.
We will be collecting coins on Monday and Tuesday for the Poppy Campaign. Your contributions directly support Canada’s serving and retired Veterans and their families, while ensuring Canada never forgets. Click here for more details.
Parent Advisory Committee PAC Members Needed
Please consider joining out PAC committee and becoming more involved in our school. Our PAC group only has three members at this time and needs your support. We are also specifically searching for a PAC treasurer. You do not need to be fluent in English to be part of PAC. Please contact the office if you may be interested in becoming a PAC volunteer.
Learning Commons News
The Georges Vanier Learning Commons has a great collection of Mighty Girl books: stories that depict smart, confident and courageous girls. To be sure, our books with male protagonists are equally as varied and powerful. Here’s a selection of titles that may help encourage youth to find their potential and harness some of their own indomitable spirit.

Fruit and Veggie Program
Each month, parents are very welcome to help out with washing and sorting fruits and veggies. See Ms. Dhaliwal for more details.
Breakfast Club Reminder
We are lucky to have the Breakfast Club here at Vanier. It opens at 7:45 a.m. on Mondays to Fridays, while school is in session. While there are some staff here in the morning, they are busy in other parts of the school, and no one is able to supervise students in Breakfast Club until 7:45. Please do not drop off your children in the lobby of the school before 7:45. They will only be let into the school when Breakfast Club opens. See Ms. Dhaliwal if you have any questions or need more information.
