We’re looking forward to a fun and active week of learning and community building at GV! Family members are welcome to come out to our Sing-a-long, Free Store, Clothing Exchange and classroom based holiday activities. The staff at Georges Vanier wish all of our families a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year!
Thank You PAC!
The Vanier staff wish to share a heartfelt thanks for the wonderful holiday luncheon this past week. We greatly appreciate your generosity, commitment and support!
Thanks, Parm, Dana and our parent community!
Kindness Counts at Georges Vanier
The Gr.4 and 5 students worked hard to complete their own interactive “mini” books (based on the book, “Press Here” by Herve Tullet), to give to their K/Gr.1 buddies and spread kindness within our school.

Free Store and Clothing Exchange
Please come to the Gym and Storage Room # 1 on Thursday, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.!
We have clothing for both boys and girls – pants, tops, hoodies, coats and a small selection of foot wear. We also have some winter items, such as gloves, hats and scarfs.
Social Responsibility Team
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Candy Cane guessing game! The Social Responsibility leadership team was able to raise $133.00 for health care in India. Congratulations to Roan and Priya who had the best guesses and won the yummy treats!
Next week we will be supporting the Surrey Food Bank. Please help us by bringing canned, boxed or packaged items and placing then in the classroom and hallway boxes. Last year we collected 400 pounds of food and this year we hope to collect even more!
Congratulations to Roan and Priya!
Thanks to the many parents who came out to our FreshGrade information session. Please see the attached info letter.

Gifts From Our Partner
Horizon Church has partnered with our school and will be sharing a gift with every child in our school on Thursday. These local community members wish to connect and support the staff, students and families at Georges Vanier. The traditional African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child” comes to mind as we connect and grow our partnership with this local church group. Please contact Mr. Dekerf or Ms. Dhaliwal if you have any suggestions or questions.
