Principal / Vice Principal’s Message

WOW! We have an exciting week coming up at GV.  On Monday, Google Expeditions will be visiting our school.  Students in grades 2-7 will be able to take a virtual reality field trip to exotic locations around the world.   On Tuesday and Wednesday the Vancouver Aquarium AquaVan will be at GV.  They will set up in the gym and MPR, and students will be learning more about aquatic creatures and environments.  This will be an incredible week of unique learning experiences!

This week we have been using our 3D printer to build connectors for straws. Then we created structures (and magic wands) using the pieces we have printed. Next time we will try cutting the straws shorter and seeing if we can make our structures more sturdy.

Vancouver Aquarium AquaVan – Tuesday & Wednesday, March 1 & 2

In groups, students will explore and discover how animals survive in different aquatic environments. By observing, discussing and touching live marine animals, students will be connected to the underwater world and learn how their actions impact the health of our fragile marine ecosystems.
