Principal / Vice Principal’s Message

On Tuesday, March 8th, students will take home a Communicating Student Learning letter for Term 2.  This letter will include an attendance label, reminders about accessing FreshGrade and information about our upcoming student led conference on Thursday.  We hope that through FreshGrade and the conferences, parents will have a clear understanding of children’s strengths, areas for further development, and ways to support learning at home.

Early Dismissal Day, Thursday, March 10, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.  – for Student Led Conferences.  All parents are encouraged to attend and appointments are not needed.  Simply drop into your child’s classroom.

Spring Break & Easter Holiday- school is closed from March 14 – 28.  Enjoy your holiday and we look forward to returning to school on Tuesday, March 29th.

Learning Commons News

Woot! We love to read and we love to dance. We made this video to show our joy in reading. Just look at all of these smiling faces. At Vanier we are conscientious Digital Citizens. Students in this video have both school and other website media consents that have been received in writing by the classroom teacher and confirmed with the Teacher Librarian in advance of filming.

We have also begun to discuss Digital Citizenship and Selfies. Click here to read more about the project.

Did you know the author Jeff Kinney has sold 150 million copies of the “Dairy of a Wimpy Kid”. If you enjoy the adventures of Greg then try these other titles too.

New Cross Walk

Please be sure to make use of our new cross walk on 142nd, near the main staff parking lot.  This new crossing will provide another safe crossing for students and families who live in the south and east side of our catchment area.
