Learning Commons News

We have had a great week celebrating reading in the LC during our Book Fair. We read some great new titles and had fun with Augmented Reality Dinosaurs. Students practiced valuable life skills by counting out money, figuring out best value, customer service and retail display. There were lots of prizes too!

Profits are used to enhance our library book collection and to support other Learning Commons initiatives. Thank you to everyone who visited.

Walk to School Wednesdays

Friday, April 22 is Earth Day!!  The Social Responsibility Leadership team is beginning Walk to School Wednesdays starting next week!

Please encourage your child to walk to school (everyday), but especially on Wednesdays as we will be starting to collect house team points!

From 8:15-8:30 on Wednesday mornings members of the Leadership team will be in 3 locations wearing their green shirts. Students who walk to school will be encouraged to go and see them for a stamp. Leaders will be at both crosswalks in the front of the school, and near the Skynet at the back of the school stamping hands of students who walked to school.

As the weather is getting nicer, we encourage parents to leave their cars at home and walk with their children to school everyday, but especially on Wednesday.
