This Thursday is our Spring Concert! There are still some tickets for sale at the office for the 1:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. Octopus’ Garden Concert!
For the evening performance, please drop students off at their classrooms at 6:10 p.m. and pick up after the concert at 7:30 p.m.
Our first Walk to School Wednesday was a big success! Many students walked or rode bikes to school and parents left cars at home. Thanks for your participation and for starting your day off right, with some physical activity. You’re improving your health, caring for the environment and keeping our streets calm and safe when you walk to school!
Students in Grades 3-7 are participating in Track & Field stations during several afternoons. We require 5 parent volunteers to help at the District Track & Field Meet on Tuesday, June 7th at Bear Creek Park. Please contact the office if you able to help out.
Learning Commons News
This week in the Learning Commons some classes have begun to experiment with our new button maker. This was purchased with greatly appreciated funds from the GVPAC, the school and with profits from the Book Fair. It has been a great success and we can see lots of possibilities. The students are designing smiling faces to help us remember to smile as we pass each other in the hallways.
We have a great selection of titles to help develop skills in Social Emotional Learning. Click the image for a selection of books that help students think about being compassionate.:
And click below for some of the books we used to help celebrate Earth Day:
B.C. Ministry of Education Satisfaction Surveys
Help us plan for the future – tell us about your education experience. Students in Grades 4, 7, 10 and 12, their parents and all staff in B.C. public schools are invited to participate in an annual online satisfaction survey about their school experience.
The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and confidential.
Parent surveys are available in 16 additional languages.
The survey is open until the end of April of each year. If it’s currently available and you have your logon information, please take the survey now:
You may pick up a login number and more details from the school office.
