PAC will be selling treats at recess time on Monday for $2.00 each in the undercover area.  Please send a toonie with your child to school, if you like.

Students are invited to wear appropriate costumes to school on Wednesday for Halloween. Many teachers have communicated with parents about when to wear costumes.  We ask that costumes be not too scary, no mask, no blood, and no weapon replicas.  We want everyone to feel comfortable and have fun!

We are also celebrating Diwali this week.  There is a pizza lunch for students on Thursday, whole school assembly on Friday @ 9:00 a.m. and staff / parent luncheon 11:45 a.m. on Friday.  Everyone is welcome to join us and dress for this special occasion.

On Thursday, Nov. 8th we will honour Remembrance Day at our school wide assembly. Students who are part of Guides, Scouts, Cadets or other such groups, are invited to come dressed in uniform.  Any parents, grandparents or family members who served as peace keepers are welcomed and will be honoured.  Please see Mr. Dekerf at the office for more details.

Thanks to students and families who donate Toonies for Terry.  Georges Vanier school made a donation of $393.25 to the B.C. Cancer Foundation.  Thanks for your generosity.

Principal / Vice Principal’s Message
It was wonderful to connect with many families last Thursday at our Meet the Teacher event and share the positive and vibrant energy in our school. Thanks to PAC parents for greeting the community at the door and hosting a successful concession. We really appreciate teachers who open their classrooms and provided families a glimpse into the rich learning that takes place in our school.

On Thursday our K – 7 classes experienced a incredible motivational speaker, Michael Bortolotto.  Click here for more information and be sure to ask your child about Michael’s message.

Michael Bortolotto, is a successful professional speaker who lives with Cerebral Palsy. For the past twenty-two years people of all ages have been inspired, motivated, educated, and entertained by his “CAN DO” attitude.  By using real life experiences and examples, he encourages and persuades his audience to rethink, what they may believe is impossible to realizing anything is possible by being determined, persistent, and focus on
the end result.
