Principal / Vice Principal’s Message

As you may be aware, it is common School District practice to move school Principals after a number of years at a school.  I recently learned that I will be transferred to Rosemary Heights Elementary, effective January 1st 2019.

It has been an honour and privilege to serve as the Principal at Georges Vanier for the past 4.5 years. It will be difficult to say goodbye to the students, staff and families that I have come to know and care deeply about.

The school can look forward to welcoming a very capable and experienced Principal, Ms. Carrie Burton, for the coming months as the District completes it’s search for a continuing Principal at Georges Vanier.

Thank you for all the wonderful memories over the years and for supporting our learners and school in many meaningful ways.  You have made my time at Georges Vanier a highlight in my career.

Lost and Found

Please check out the lost and found display in our main hallway.  All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity before the holiday break.

Clothing Exchange Open

Please drop by storage room #1 in the gym on Thursday, Dec. 13th between 1:30 and 2:45 p.m. if you are in need of any free clothing (child and adult sizes), school supplies, backpacks, or household items.

North Pole Musical

Ticket order forms were sent home early last week.  Please complete your orders soon as tickets are running out.  We have limited seating due to the fire regulation capacity in our gym.

New School Sign

Our new reader board sign is being installed in front of our school.  The sign will be free standing, easy to use, and help communicate important dates and events to our community. Thanks to for PAC for helping to pay for this new sign!
